Coalition for Community Schools

Beacon Schools

Beacons centers are community centers located in public school buildings offering students and their families recreational, social service, educational enrichment and vocational activities before and after school, in the evening and on weekends. Supports and services include providing safe places, leadership skills development, supervised engaging activities promoting positive behaviors and practices, adult education, parent involvement, family support, family and community service activities and health services.
